So Simple?

So Simple – to believe

That what trials we face

Are beyond those others know

That notion seeming out of place

As others bear more than they show

So Simple – to conceive

That our own fear or pain

Surpass what others have to bear

That idea becomes less sane

If we listen to what others share

So Simple – to ignore

The quiet even nervous gaze

Of someone with burden great

That shrouds in uncomfortable haze

In dwindling hope for friends they wait

So Simple – to care

To set our own needs aside

And reach out with listening ear

To reassure them hope does abide

And in kindness draw this lost one near

So simple?
