Summer Comes

Summer comes on wind kissed by the heat

Swirling about as though a firefly aloft

Marked by sandy shores under bare feet

Summer comes with days of shadow long

Evenings by porch light rocking gently

Flowers sway in time to sunsets song

Summer comes and brings a slower pace

Granting us all time to stop and sit

Leaving happiness on childlike face

Summer goes far to quickly from our sight

Reminding us to enjoy the moment

As we await autumn’s golden light.
