On Edward Redfield’s “Fleecydale Road” Painting

fleecydale painting (3)

Wonder if you should,

-at oldest barn of sodden wood

-leaning hard wont to fall if it could

Thinking too am I,

-it seemed winter time stood by

-willfully creating an oddly sodden sky

Know now if you might,

-how familiar this wintry sight

-roads of muddy rut leading to night

Feeling if you can,

-long departed soul of the simple man

-shivering against wind now but shadows stand.
