Woven Web

Silken shining string as streak of sun

Glistening gleaming glossy as gold

Spun silently yet specific and sure

Dangling dawdling dwelling of death

Hiding holding helping playing a hunch

Waiting wanting willing meal with wings

Patiently pacing praying for her prey

Looking longingly for sign of life

Twisting and twirling in tawny thread

Finding fallen fodder in snare so filmy

Embalming each eagerly for eating

Awaiting anxiously another ambush

The spider sits smugly and silent

Upon her glossy growing graveyard

Particularly pleased she will grow plump.
