Softly as dew upon first blade of spring’s bounty
unannounced it comes as damp caress in passing
it changes all things to glistening life too briefly lasting.
Violently as hurricane upon once sun kissed shore
unwanted it comes as drenching slap in hatreds heat
it hurts all things without intending such through defeat.
Swiftly as stone heaved from mountainous height
unimpeded it plummets as crushing force in fearful flight
it destroys all things not knowing they already cower in fright.
Raining – Hailing – Upon me – Unforgivingly so.
