Emptiness, cavernous as crevasse carved

—by jagged glacier’s violent path

—laid opened unexpectedly

—cut through to the very core

Emptiness, vast as desert’s desolate expanse

—windswept and forgotten gladly

—deserted by life and easily so

—destroyed no intention to rebuild

Emptiness, dark as trench of oceans depth

—barren as frozen tundra, unwanted

—discarded as trash without worth

—easily set aside without any remorse

Emptiness, clear as crystal cut with care

—refracting smallest light shockingly

—intensely greater than initial impact

—radiates its deep sorrow for all to see
