Naught without You

Image

And what about you, do you bear a share? Question yourself…

What could you do,

To be the game changer, to help another.

What have you done,

To lend to the problem, to make it worse.

What was your part,

To contribute to sorrow, to add into happiness.

What have you given,

To ease a burden, to make heavier a load.

What have you provided,

To nourish good growth, to wilt what once bloomed

What have you shared,

To build a relationship up, to tear it asunder.

What have you offered,

To mend a broken fence, to topple a fragile wall.

Question yourself, for surely nothing around you ever happens, good or bad…without you.

Remembrance of you

994375_10202222537183641_675313071_n

Beyond my touch, yet ever present

you are right there in front of me, my mind plays tricks

letting me see moments in time, as though they had not passed away, with you.

Beyond my touch, yet ever present

you are right there in front of me, I can hear you

quietly walking along beside me, as though still a part of each day, a ghost.

Beyond my touch, yet ever present

you are right there in front of me, feeling you brush past

gentle pressure against my thigh, as though able to greet me, invisible.

Beyond my touch yet ever present

you are right there in front of me, my spirit senses yours

your soft brown eyes locked with my own, unconditional, even in death.

Beyond my touch yet ever present

you are right there in front of me, if only in remembrance

gone yet with me, in my thoughts, as though missing you could bring you back.

At What Point…

]

Wondering at what point it would matter

Giving care and love over years, open hearted

Meeting your needs, and planning for what is to come.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Giving time and effort over years, open hearted

Helping and providing for you, praying for your success.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Giving materially and spiritually, open hearted

Wanting only that which makes you happy, and fulfilled.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Giving without expectation of return, open hearted

Knowing that this path was of my choosing, glad for the journey.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Enough that you might think of another, understanding

Offering a kind word and a little time to build up those who love you.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Enough that you might consider your actions, your inactions

Planning a thoughtful moment, a gentle hug, ways to share yourself.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Enough that you would see how much the distance hurts me, and care

Turning toward those who have lifted you up, instead of turning… your back.

Wondering at what point it would matter

Saddened that in all the years spent, I left something undone

Teaching you that your family is what remains, after all else has walked away.

Entanglement

Image

Reading what is not written as though printed text on page, yet invisible

she nudges his arm ever so gently without sound, knowing he understands.

Hearing what is not spoken as though shouted out loud, yet silent

he winks catching her glance ever so briefly, she casts a wink of agreement.

Touching what is not in reach as though holding it together, yet distant

they gesture from across the room without contact, they each feel the other.

Seeing what is not visible as though painting upon the wall, yet imagined

both aware of the view through their private window, they are so connected.

Loving what is not measurable as though possession dear, yet conceptual

two hearts entwined and tangled hopelessly, both grateful for the entanglement.

Losing Track

Image

Losing track – floating tirelessly through

caught as a tempest of wind spirals

flying long away from where once begun.

Losing track – lifting unexpectedly upwards

held firm in forces beyond controlling

twisted wildly around nearly comes undone.

Losing track – soaring dangerously free

trapped suddenly by forces unseen

crumbling as buffeted against every obsticle.

Losing track – falling rapidly downward

unaided by anyone as ground rises up

knowing the end has come, too far gone to run.

Stalemate

Image

A chess game and I am naught but rook

…..without an evasive move to take

Many other games over which to look

…..yet no prevailing move to make

A chess game played over so many years

…..never having ended holding check

Many pieces captured given through tears

…..many battles waged leaving me weak

A chess game on alternating squares the same

…..moving forward sets me back as well

Many moves for naught the win I cannot claim

…..no piece shall remain as the attacks swell

A chess game ending only in a stalemate

…..neither side will come find victory their prize

Many unfair words of blame become our fate

….. on the board pieces remain reflecting only lies.

Blue the Lily

Image

Brilliant flash of color

brightly dancing across once white canvas

bringing the eye and the heart bubbling joy,

blues swirl as sky and sea awakening the spirit.

Deepest darkness of shading

devoid of light it steeps the brightness in night

delighting the eye and soul with serious thought,

blue soaked in black and purple quieting the mind.

Softest swash of fluffy powder

flashes of white and light dust gently as the dawn

filling the eye and spirit with peaceful feelings

blue speckled with white and grey brings light to life.

Flower flowing with color divine

gorgeous variegated painted natural gifts grown

giving the eye and the world breathtaking beauty

blue of every shade in one place joyfully radiating outward.
